The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, also known as the Chen Clan Academy, could be called one of China's most under-recognized architectural wonders. Originally a clan hall built in the late 19th century, the structure now houses the Guangdong Folk Art Museum. The exquisite wood and stone carvings inlaid in the screens, eaves, and roofs of the buildings are only overshadowed by the incredible art being displayed in the halls. This is a must-see for any visitor to Guangzhou and takes the better part of a morning or afternoon to fully explore.
