The eastern pedestrian-only section of Nanjing Road will eventually lead you to People’s Square, the center point of Shanghai. Here, you will find numerous well-known landmarks, such as the Shanghai Museum, the China Art Museum, and the Shanghai Grand Opera Palace, as well as a nice park.

If you travel along the western side of Nanjing Road, you will reach Jing’an Temple, a famous ancient temple that is said to be over 1,000 years old.

Nanjing Road is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, so be prepared for crowds. Weekends and evenings tend to be the most crowded times to visit.
